As the world starts to open back up, many kids are excited to resume their annual trips to their favorite summer camps. While summer camps may look different this year with additional COVID safety protocols, the preparations needed to ensure your child stays safe while away at camp remain the same. Below are some recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics.
First and foremost, your child should have a physical to ensure that they are healthy enough to participate in any sports or activities. Kids First Pediatrics of Raleigh and Clayton provide sports physicals for kids of all ages.
All campers should be immunized according to the AAD recommended vaccine schedule. Kids First Pediatrics can work with you to make sure your children are caught up on all vaccines.
All kids should be sent to camp with any personal emergency medications or medical devices, such as inhalers or epinephrine auto-injectors. Work with your Kids First Provider to ensure your kids have the medications they need.
Make sure that your family is familiar with all COVID safety protocols to keep your child, fellow campers, and staff safe.
Kids First Pediatrics is standing by, ready to help you and your children feel confident about summer camp activities. Give us a call to book your child’s health physical as well as immunizations. Raleigh: 919-250-3478, Clayton: 919-267-1499
